Announcements

All Spring Managers and Coaches

Managers and Coaches must register online in our system. This is separate from the Background Check mentioned below. For more information about registering as a coach visit the Registration page.

We will be issuing a photo ID for background checks the season.  You need to do two things:

  • Updated - All managers and coaches must apply for a new Background Check. The check is good for one calendar year, starting in January.  So even if you had a check done in the Fall you will need to repeat the process.  Additionally, we recently changed the link used for background checks for this year, so anyone submitting an application prior to Tuesday, January 17th will have to resubmit using the new link.
  • Come to the MVPB fields Saturday, January 28th to get your photo taken for the ID.  We'll be near the snack shack from 10am - 3pm, so stop by when you bring your player or while you are there helping with the evaluations
All other volunteers (team parents, dugout helpers, etc.) also need to have current Background Check if you are interacting with the players. We will continue to issue wrist bands for these volunteers so no photos are necessary. Any questions about background checks or photo IDs should be sent to Norb Ruhmke.

MVP Baseball Player Evaluations Saturday January 28th

Colt/Palomino Evaluations Thursday Feb 2nd

Parents check your time slot by last name - if for some reason you are unable to attend your allotted time slot, we will do our best to work you in to another time slot during the day. The Snack Bar will be open. There will be food and drinks available throughout the day.  We need volunteers for the snack bar throughout the day.  Please contact concessions@mvpb.org if you can help out.

Things to Know
  • Arrive early. For example, showing up at 9:55 for a 9-10 time slot will only slow down everyone trying out behind you
  • Come prepared. Players should bring their own glove, cleats, bat and helmet. We have a very limited supply of helmets and bats. If a player is searching for a bat or helmet when it's their time to hit, it slows the entire line down
  • Be Ready to Listen and Hustle: Players will receive instruction as they come through the gate. The better they listen, the more they are prepared, the faster it will go for everyone.
  • Players that do not go through Player Evaluations are ineligible for the PDP program (coach drafting to team), they become a blind draw (hat picks) for the draft and are ineligible for all-star consideration
  • Shetland does not go through evaluations - You will be notified by your managers as to your team and the start of practices
  • Colt/Palomino evaluations will be scheduled for a later date
  • Wait listed players will be contacted Tuesday with instructions on whether they need to attend evaluations
  • All evaluations are held at the MVP Baseball Complex

Updated: MVPB Unlimited Teams Looking for Players

For players looking to take their game to the next level, MVPB offers the Unlimited Division. These teams play a regular MVPB season and most feature the opportunity to play tournaments in and around the Inland Empire and beyond.

The newly formed "Murrieta Spitfires", are looking for one player, age 9-10, to play in the Mustang Unlimited division. If interested please contact Coach Mick Trask at Dukimall@yahoo.com.

Bulldogs Baseball Club is looking for one talented youngster for its 10U team and its 12U squad. We only carry 10 players on each team. If you would like to join our Bulldog Club (either age group), please contact the manager by cell (951-757-6051) or by email: bulldogstravelbaseballclub@yahoo.com

Ricky (Smiley) Martinez

One of the members or our MVPB family, Ricky Martinez, has been diagnosed with the life threatening disease Severe Aplastia Anemia. It is a rare but serious blood disorder which affects one to three in a million people. This condition affects his bone marrow which cannot produce white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets on its own. Rickey is in need of a matching blood marrow donor.

Anybody interested in registering to be a blood marrow donor and to see if they are a match for Ricky is encouraged to go to BeTheMatch.org to register. When you register you will be prompted for a promo code and should enter "ricky2011". You will be mailed a simple cheek swab kit that you then return (postage prepaid) to determine if you may be a match.

You can also help by donating to cover Ricky's medical expenses. All proceeds and donations will go directly to help his treatment and well being.

Welcome to MVPB!  Where kids play real baseball...

We are a non-profit organization that is run solely by volunteers. Our league enables children ages 5-18 to compete in a game they love.

The MVPB Fields were built on private land which is leased from Rancho California Water District with thousands of volunteer dollars and hours. Construction and maintenance of six PONY regulation size fields are complete with dugouts and bullpens. We also have a snack bar that offers a variety of amenities. It is only through the countless volunteers, sponsors and a very generous community that MVPB continues to thrive.

This year the membership of MVPB holds a great group of people who devote many hours in making this league a success. Each year, we rely on registration (our membership), sponsorships and donations that are vital to the existence and success of this league. Your participation in our league makes a difference and we ask for your continued support.
