Spring playoff brackets are up for some of the divisions. Check out the schedules on the 2012 Spring Season page.  More to come as they are available.

Ricky (Smiley) Martinez Update

Ricky and his family having been receiving support from many throughout the community.  You may have seen his dedicated friends family out at the MVPB fields raising awareness, looking for donors, and soliciting donations to help pay for his large medical expenses.

At the Mid-Season Classic day the Dodgers and Dick's Sporting Goods presented Ricky's father Oscar with a Dodgers jersey with Ricky's name and number.  Ricky had been invited to throw out the first pitch for the Mustang Classic game, but was too sick to appear.  Oscar was able to attend and throw out the pitch for Ricky.

There is encouraging  news in Ricky's fight.  Doctors have located Ricky's cord blood and hope to use it to jump start his marrow.  But the search for a marrow donor continues, with support from the Lake Elsinore Storm and efforts from a Cal State San Marcos professor.  You can still register to be a marrow donor (see information below).

----------------------------------------------

One of the members or our MVPB family, Ricky Martinez, has been diagnosed with the life threatening disease Severe Aplastia Anemia. It is a rare but serious blood disorder which affects one to three in a million people. This condition affects his bone marrow which cannot produce white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets on its own. Rickey is in need of a matching blood marrow donor.

Anybody interested in registering to be a blood marrow donor and to see if they are a match for Ricky is encouraged to go to BeTheMatch.org to register. When you register you will be prompted for a promo code and should enter "ricky2011". You will be mailed a simple cheek swab kit that you then return (postage prepaid) to determine if you may be a match.

You can also help by donating to cover Ricky's medical expenses. All proceeds and donations will go directly to help his treatment and well being.

Welcome to MVPB!  Where kids play real baseball...

We are a non-profit organization that is run solely by volunteers. Our league enables children ages 5-18 to compete in a game they love.

The MVPB Fields were built on private land which is leased from Rancho California Water District with thousands of volunteer dollars and hours. Construction and maintenance of six PONY regulation size fields are complete with dugouts and bullpens. We also have a snack bar that offers a variety of amenities. It is only through the countless volunteers, sponsors and a very generous community that MVPB continues to thrive.

This year the membership of MVPB holds a great group of people who devote many hours in making this league a success. Each year, we rely on registration (our membership), sponsorships and donations that are vital to the existence and success of this league. Your participation in our league makes a difference and we ask for your continued support.
